Dr. James Curtiss

General Dentist

Dr. Curtiss is a 1975 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and has studied extensively at the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education, completing all six continuums. He is a charter member of the East Tennessee Pankey Study Club and has been an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry since 2004. Dr. Curtiss has completed the LSU School of Dentistry Comprehensive Continuum on Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry and has received training in oral conscious sedation from the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. Dr. Curtiss also has extensive training in the areas of treatment planning and the restoration of dental implants.

Dr. Curtiss is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and is a member of the Southeast Academy of Prosthodontics. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Tennessee Dental Association, and a Past-President of the Second District Dental Society.

A native of Memphis, Jim and his wife, Susan, settled in Blount County in 1975 when Jim was the public heath dentist at the Blount County Health Department. They promptly fell in love with the community and “put down roots” when Dr. Curtiss opened his general dental practice in 1977. Jim and Susan, who met at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville during their undergraduate days, have been married for over 50 years and have two grown children and five grandchildren.
